August 03, 2005 was the day I set foot in San Francisco.
Although it was supposed to be summer..but August in San Francisco is not exactly "hot"
I was full with excitements for going to grad school to study something I'm passionate about.
I got settled in my little cute apartment in Pacific Heights.
Before I knew it, school started.
And I was busy with projects, exams, and other school projects.
Still with excitements..
Enjoying my life in a totally different city.
Other than school, I was only going to movies and exploring the city with my boyfriend at that time.
I guess I was just exploring the city at that time,
I was satisfied with so little entertainments.
I was satisfied with going to a small Japanese restaurants near my place.
I was satisfied with taking the bus and going grocery shopping.
And then I broke up with my boyfriend back then.
I made some more friends from school.
We had a lot of fun together.
And they took me to explore the city more.
Treasure Island..Sunset area..
and more restaurants around school.
We took some interesting classes together..
Paper making..Fashion Illustration..Styling..etc.
We went shopping together between classes..
Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy's, Saks, Bloomingdale's..and all the stores around Union Square.
We had so much fun together.
Carrying tons of huge shopping bags from Coach, Lacoste, BCBG, Diesel, Miss Sixty..etc.
We had a blast.
And at the same time, I decided to move to Treasure Island.
I was sick and tired of living in a small studio.
I moved to a huge house.
I enjoyed the fresh air there.
It felt fresh moving from the city.
But a while later,
it was a little too inconvenient.
I didn't have a car, and i had to rely on people.
School was getting different.
Cuz i finished my required classes and I was starting on working on my thesis.
I had to decide what my subject was going to be.
Design, make samples, handbags, cards, financial plan, store design, and write it all into a thesis.
This was 2006 and the beginning of 2007.
I was dating once a while at that time.
But no one really attracted me particularly.
Until April 2007.
I met my boyfriend now.
And we went to Hawaii in June the same year.
Everything happened fast because we clicked so fast.
He took me out on weekend to parties and clubs.
I started meeting more people.
Started to explore more restaurants.
He took me to so many restaurants in SF.
I say I want to go somewhere and he took me there.
He took me to another level of exploring San Francisco.
And in June, i moved to the same building he lives in.
He helped me move everything.
And then he was gone to Turkey at the end of July to August.
At the same time, I finished my thesis and presented it to the graduate committee.
And I passed and got my masters in Fashion Merchandising in August 2007.
I finished my 3 year program in 2 years.
With my masters, I went out to look for a job.
Nothing was easy about that.
I got my job in Ralph Lauren in October the same year.
Which I think was great because I think it'd be a great experience for me to work there.
I started my working life in San Francisco..
Enjoying my social life with my boyfriend.
Having the greatest relationship.
Met so many weirdos at work.
Got so much bullshits also.
Learned so many things about the retail business at the same time.
By the year of 2008, I got a little nervous about my visa status in the States.
I was frustrated.
I wanted to find another job that will apply for a H1 visa for me so I can stay in the States.
It was a depressing period for me.
But I'm lucky and glad that I have a boyfriend that supports and spoils me a lot.
By the end of Feb, I quit my job because I wanted to look for a job full time.
Anyway, I couldn't find anything.
By May, I decided to buy my tickets to go on my long vacation to Turkey.
And at the same time,I decided to go back to Taiwan.
So, I sent all my stuff back to Taiwan.
I love my life in San Francisco!
I learned a lot and grew up a lot there.
